Leapmotor has officially announced Australian pricing and specifications for the new B03X, positioning the compact electric SUV as one of the most affordable battery-electric SUVs in the market.

The Chinese automaker confirmed on October 6, 2026, that the B03X will arrive in Australian dealerships in November.
Pricing starts at AUD $29,990 drive-away for the entry-level Style version, while the longer-range Design LR starts at AUD $33,990 drive-away.
Leapmotor is clearly targeting buyers looking for an affordable entry point into electric SUV ownership.
Two Versions Will Be Available
The B03X lineup consists of two variants.
The entry-level Style uses a 39.8-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery.
Leapmotor claims a driving range of up to 292 kilometers under the WLTP cycle.
The more expensive Design LR increases battery capacity to 53 kWh.
That version delivers up to 382 kilometers of WLTP range.
Both models use front-wheel drive.
The Style is powered by a 130-kW electric motor producing 200 Nm of torque.
The Design LR increases output to 145 kW.
Despite the difference in motor power, both versions accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 8.6 seconds and have a top speed of 160 km/h.
Fast Charging in Around 16 Minutes
Charging performance is another important part of the B03X package.
Both versions include an 11-kW onboard AC charger.
The Style supports DC fast charging at up to 100 kW, while the Design LR increases maximum DC charging power to 133 kW.
Leapmotor says a 30% to 80% recharge can take approximately 16 minutes under optimal conditions.
Actual charging times will depend on charger output, battery temperature and environmental conditions.
The B03X also includes Vehicle-to-Load functionality capable of supplying up to 3.3 kW of power to external devices.
That allows the vehicle to operate as a mobile electricity source for equipment such as camping accessories or small appliances.
A Large Touchscreen Comes Standard
Leapmotor is also attempting to offer a high level of technology at a relatively low price.
Every B03X includes a 14.6-inch central touchscreen.
The system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor and works alongside an 8.8-inch digital instrument display.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
Other features include satellite navigation, voice controls, over-the-air software updates and wireless smartphone charging.
Owners can also use Leapmotor’s smartphone application to monitor vehicle status and control certain functions remotely.
Level 2 Driver Assistance Is Standard
Safety technology is another area where the B03X offers substantial standard equipment.
Every version includes seven airbags and Leapmotor’s LEAP Pilot Level 2 driver-assistance suite.
The system supports 21 advanced driver-assistance functions.
These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Detection.
Front and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist and Driver Attention Monitoring are also included.
The Design LR adds front parking sensors, additional side collision sensors and a 360-degree camera system.
It also includes a built-in dashcam recorder.
Small Outside, Practical Inside
The B03X has been designed primarily for urban driving.
It measures approximately 4,270 mm in length and 1,810 mm in width, with a 2,605-mm wheelbase.
Despite those relatively compact dimensions, Leapmotor says the SUV provides considerable interior flexibility.
There are 33 individual storage areas throughout the cabin.
Rear passengers benefit from what the company calls Leap Flex Seats.
Combined with the folding second row, the B03X can provide up to 1,315 liters of cargo capacity.
That makes it particularly interesting for buyers who want city-friendly dimensions without sacrificing too much practicality.
The Design LR Adds Premium Equipment
Customers moving up to the Design LR receive more than a larger battery.
The higher trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
It also receives TechnoLeather upholstery certified to OEKO-TEX standards.
A 12-speaker surround audio system replaces the six-speaker setup found in the Style.
Ambient interior lighting and a 360-degree camera are also included.
The differences help separate the two versions despite the relatively small price gap.
Warranty Coverage Is Extensive
Leapmotor is backing the B03X with relatively long warranty coverage.
The high-voltage battery receives an eight-year or 160,000-km warranty.
The vehicle itself is covered for six years or 150,000 km.
Customers also receive eight years of roadside assistance and capped-price servicing under the conditions announced by Leapmotor Australia.
Warranty terms can differ depending on country and market.
One of Australia’s Cheapest Electric SUVs
Price is likely to become the biggest talking point.
Leapmotor is marketing the B03X as Australia’s most affordable all-electric SUV.
The Style carries an MSRP of AUD $26,990 before on-road costs, while the advertised drive-away price is $29,990.
The Design LR has an MSRP of $30,990 and a drive-away price of $33,990.
The promotional drive-away pricing applies to eligible vehicles purchased and delivered between October 1 and December 31, 2026, or while stocks remain.
The prices are specific to Australia and should not be interpreted as expected pricing in other markets.
A New Entry Point Into Electric SUVs
The B03X illustrates how quickly competition is increasing in the affordable EV segment.
Chinese manufacturers have increasingly combined aggressive pricing with technology that was previously more common in significantly more expensive vehicles.
In the case of the B03X, buyers receive a large touchscreen, Level 2 assistance technology, fast charging and an LFP battery.
The long-range version also offers nearly 400 km of WLTP driving range.
For Leapmotor, the new SUV is another step in its international expansion through its relationship with Stellantis.
For consumers, however, the most important detail may simply be price.
With a drive-away starting point below AUD $30,000, the B03X is attempting to make electric SUV ownership accessible to a much broader audience.
